Indoor hammocks/hammock chairs are made of cotton, while outdoor versions are made of polyester. Both fabrics feel very soft and comfortable against the skin. The advantage of outdoor fabric is its resistance to moisture, making it suitable for use when the hammock/hanging chair is left outside, for example, overnight. With indoor fabric, it is very important that the product is not stored in a damp condition to prevent mold growth.
We are happy to supply spare parts of all kinds. Since we are the manufacturer ourselves, we keep all individual parts in stock and are also flexible with special requests. We also offer repairs, although it often comes down to a cost-benefit decision.
Here are our price lists for spare parts.

For hammocks and frames from other brands, the span (= hanging point to hanging point) always matters.
Frame 310 - Hammock span up to 3.1m
Frame 360 - Hammock span up to 3.6m
Frame 450 - Hammock span up to 4.5m
If the hammock's span is between two sizes (e.g., 3.3m; 4m), you can bridge this gap with the Flexi Set.
Regarding our products:
Weatherproof: withstands rain, wind, and sun; can remain outdoors from spring to autumn; must be stored frost-free during the winter.
Weather-resistant: withstands all weather conditions; can remain outdoors year-round.
Questions about the products

The Right Place
Before you even buy a hammock, you should think about the ideal spot for relaxing. To ensure you can unwind undisturbed, we recommend choosing a quiet corner, ideally free from traffic noise and shielded from prying eyes. Depending on whether you plan to relax in the garden, on the balcony, on the patio, or indoors, there are also a few practical things to consider.
If the hammock is to be attached to posts, trees, or walls, it's crucial to check their stability.

How Much Space Does a Hammock Need?
The space required for a hammock depends on the necessary distance between the hanging points and the required hanging height.
A single hammock requires a minimum distance of 3 meters, while a double hammock needs 3.5 meters.
The mounting height depends on the distance between the attachment points.

Hammock Mounting Hardware
Once you have determined the space required for your hammock and ensured that your mounting hardware is sufficiently stable, you can begin hanging it. The hanging method varies depending on the structure you intend to use.
For mounting between two trees, we recommend tree ropes.
For wall mounting, we offer wall attachment.
Swing hooks allow for attachment to wooden posts.
These mounting options can be combined, for example, one side attached to a tree or wall and the other to a wooden post.
If you don't have a suitable fixture to hang your hammock, or if you want to keep your relaxation space flexible, a hammock stand is a good option.
You can choose between wooden and stainless steel stands.
Yes, we can also make hammocks without a rod (so-called knotted hammocks).
If you're interested, please feel free to send us an inquiry.

The Right Place
Before you can spend many relaxing hours in your hanging chair, you first need to choose a place to unwind. You're spoiled for choice, as a hanging chair can be hung both outdoors and indoors.
We generally recommend choosing a quiet corner where you can fully focus on relaxing and aren't distracted by disturbing noises or prying eyes.
If the hammock is to be attached to posts, trees, or ceilings, it's crucial to check their stability.

How Much Space Does a Hanging Chair Need?
There are two key factors when calculating the space required for a hanging chair:
Firstly, sufficient distance must be maintained between the hanging chair and its surroundings. We recommend a minimum distance of 90 cm between the pivot point and walls, furniture, and other objects.
Secondly, the ceiling height or the height of the beam from which you intend to hang the chair is relevant. A minimum height of 2.2 m is recommended.

Hanging Chair Mounting
Once you've determined the space required for your hanging chair and ensured your mounting hardware is sufficiently stable, you can begin the installation process. The mounting method varies depending on the type of structure you're using.
To attach your hanging chair to a concrete ceiling, a ceiling atachment is suitable. For a brick ceiling, the mount must be installed in the joist. This can be located using a metal detector.
For mounting in a wooden beam, we recommend a swing hook.
We recommend a tree rope for attaching to trees or exposed wooden beams.
If ceiling mounting isn't possible, wall mounting is an option.
We offer the Astra wall mount for indoor use and the Aphora for outdoor use.
If you don't have a suitable mounting point for your hammock, or if you prefer a flexible relaxation area, a hammock stand is a good solution.
You can choose between wooden and stainless steel frames.
To prevent overstretching or breakage and a resulting fall, attach the chain with some slack!
Thread the chain through the center of the rocking spring.
Hang the top end of the rocking spring in a chain link.
Leave 3-4 chain links of slack at the bottom end and attach the next chain link to the bottom of the rocking spring.

Securing the hammock with a safety rope is also possible.
Here, thread the rope through the swivel/carabiner to the middle of the rope.
Then thread it upwards through the rocking spring.
The two ski loops are then attached to the carabiner.

CHICO Hammock GmbH accepts no liability for accidents resulting from improper assembly or handling!
Both cotton and synthetic fabrics can be hand washed at 30°C, ideally in soapy water in the bathtub or outside in the garden. To dry, lay the hammock flat or hang it up.
Note: Do not remove the wooden parts or ropes!
We also offer a washing service. Just ask: +43 (0) 7289 8226

Store your hammock in a dry, dark place. This will help preserve the colors and prevent fading. Make sure the hammock is completely dry before storing it to prevent mold and weather stains.
Did you know that mice also like hammocks? Therefore, store the completely dry hammock in a sealed plastic bag or box, especially if you're storing it in a place where mice might be present, such as a shed or attic.
It's possible that the hammock is simply hanging crookedly in the frame.
To straighten it, stand at the top of the stand and pull the lower end of the hammock up toward you. This should straighten the hammock.
We strongly recommend that you only use the children's hammock under supervision.
The advantage of ceiling mounting is that the hammock doesn't tip sideways, but only swings gently. This means that even if the child sits up, there's no danger, as they can hold onto the solid wooden frame and support themselves.
Tip: Hang the hammock just above the ground and place a soft mat underneath for additional protection. This way, the child can later climb in and out of the hammock as they please.
The wooden hamock chair and hammock frames are made of ash wood. Those suitable for outdoor use are coated with a varnish (brown or gray). This protects the surface from water penetration.
Slight discoloration and small cracks in the wood are normal. For larger cracks, the stability of the frame must be checked. If you are unsure, please feel free to send us a photo, and we will be happy to advise you on the next steps.
To ensure you enjoy your frame for as long as possible, we recommend storing it in a dry, frost-free location during the autumn and winter. Ideally, store it away while it is completely dry to prevent mold growth.
After several years, or if the varnish begins to chip, the varnish should be renewed. We recommend using the original varnish, as others may cause unwanted reactions. It is also best to place the legs on tiles rather than on grass or sand.
