They will accompany you for many years. Provided you take a few things to heart when it comes to care and cleaning. The same applies to frames, which you can of course also get from us. They also need a little special attention from time to time so that you can enjoy them for a long time. In this blog post, we will give you tips on how to care for your hammock frame and show you what is important.
The classic is a wooden frame. They give every hammock a rustic, cozy charm and fit perfectly into any indoor and outdoor setting. If you choose a wooden version, however, you should keep in mind that it requires a little more care:
Place correctly: The location has a big influence on the lifespan of your hammock frame. Basically, the wetter and more humid the environment, the faster the wood will weather. Hammock frames love it dry. So make sure that the product is not left in the rain for days or in a shady spot in the forest where it takes a long time to dry. The location should also be storm-proof. Our "Siesta" hammock frame in particular should not be placed directly on the grass so that it doesn't get wet feet. A stone slab is perfect as a base.
By the way: We have also developed frames that can be folded up again within a minute - perfect for all those who prefer to keep their everyday companion safely in the house and only take it out when it's time for a few hours of leisure.
Proper care: We recommend sanding the frame after about two years and applying a little varnish to renew the weather protection. We have maintenance sets to make the job easier for you.
Store correctly: Before a wooden frame is put away in the fall and stored in the basement, for example, it should be thoroughly dry. A mouse-proof storage location for the hammock is also an advantage.
In addition to our wooden frames, the stainless steel versions are very popular - as a modern and easy-care alternative. The reason: stainless steel frames can remain in place over the winter if desired, as they neither rust nor weather. However, a few care steps won't do any harm:
Proper care: In spring, just before the outdoor hammock season begins, the hammock frame will benefit from some stainless steel care. Simply apply this with a microfiber cloth. Or you can use our specially designed set.
If you take these care tips to heart and take good care of your hammock and frame, both will last you 10 to 15 years. Through all of life's ups and downs. That sounds fantastic, doesn't it? And if any damage does occur, please feel free to contact us. We also offer replacement parts.
