From stools to hammocks: seating for the barbecue area and garden party

Many are eagerly awaiting the first barbecue party of the year. Finally, warmer days invite you to chill outside again. It smells of all kinds of delicacies. And the prospect of the upcoming summer inspires. In order for the barbecue party to be a success, however, some preparation is required: First of all, you have to choose the right food - high-quality meat is a must. But there should also be enough alternatives for vegetarians or vegans on the grill or sizzling over the open fire. The grill must also be brought out of hibernation and subjected to a thorough cleaning. If you are going to use a campfire, it is important to inspect the barbecue area in advance and remove any weeds or debris. If you want to create an atmospheric ambience, you can't avoid the right decoration. And then there is the seating that needs to be prepared for the BBQ or garden party. There are a few ideas for this in the blog post.

Close to the fire or well protected

If you are thinking about the right seating for your garden party, you must first make a decision in advance: Do you prefer a campfire for your guests to sit around? Or would you rather fire up the grill and let your visitors sit a bit away on the lawn or on a terrace? The first variant is perfect for grilling sausages on a skewer or stick bread. Getting together around a fire has something intimate about it and has played an important role in our cultural history for thousands of years. The disadvantage: Not every dish is suitable for this rustic type of grilling and if you want stylish dishes when eating, you should rather switch to a table away from it. When it comes to seating, materials that are heat-resistant are essential for the first variant close to the fire. The available space in the garden also determines many of the framework conditions - space-saving, flexible furniture that can be put together closer together or placed more airily depending on the size of the fire is therefore trumps. With the second option, you have more leeway in terms of seating for your garden party - but the cozy campfire atmosphere is lost. In any case, we have a few ideas for seating for your barbecue area or garden party below:

Rattan seating set: It is the epitome of a chilled garden party and can therefore be found on a number of terraces: the rattan seating set. With seat cushions, cozy cushions and a glass top for the table, nothing is left to be desired when it comes to comfort. The disadvantage: You need a lot of space for this and these pieces of furniture have to be maintained regularly.

Beer table set: Quickly set up and quickly stowed away again, this classic can be found in almost every household. If the rustic design bothers you, you can upgrade the set with comfortable seat cushions or colored slipcovers, or you can grab paint and a brush and give the table and benches an upbeat coat of paint.

beer crate bench: Individual seating can also be conjured up from empty beer or beverage crates. All you need for this are boxes and a wooden board. Stack two boxes on the left and two on the right and place the board over them. So that this does not slip away, you need a short wooden strip holder. To do this, measure the inside dimensions of the box and cut the strips to the appropriate length. These strips are now screwed onto the board, the board is turned over and the strips are put into the box.

pallet bench: If you are good with a drill and saw, you can also build a pallet bench with a table. There are instructions for this on the internet. For a small two-seater bench, for example, you need three Euro pallets, including side rests up to four. It becomes even more practical if you equip the furniture with castors. And of course, comfortable seat covers and cushions should not be missing here either.

Hammock: Whether stretched between trees with ropes or supplemented by a frame - hammocks are also perfect as seating for the garden party. If you opt for a CHICO hammock, you have a wide range of options in terms of colours, sizes and materials, but you can also choose a wide variety of frames.
